We might not always have time for a full- or half-day training workshop, but all of us usually can find time for one or two hours of training to learn new ideas that help us boost our effectiveness.  Join Laurie Richards for one, two, or all three innovative 90-minute a la carte sessions designed to address some of your most significant messaging and preparation issues
SESSION 1 - 10:00-11:30 a.m.
"Preparing Your PAC Board Ambassadors"
Your board members are perhaps the most influential and most effective ambassadors for growing your PAC. Or are they? Need to get your board motivated, energized, engaged and really working to grow your PAC? Then this is the session for you.
You'll get:
- Language to get them on board (pun intended);
- Tips for creating a toolkit to get them up and running;
- Ideas for building their confidence as PAC Ambassadors; and
- Low maintenance - high impact techniques to use your board members and their positions to help build PAC credibility.
SESSION 2 - 11:45 a.m. - 1:15 p.m.
"Handling the Tough Qs"
Why should I give to the PAC? What has the PAC done for me lately? Isn't this just buying vote? What does politics have to do with my job?
This is just a taste of the tough questions you're probably getting in an environment where politicians are on the top of the list of untrustworthy people. There's a way to respond to touch questions without losing charisma, trust, and credibility. In this session you learn how to:
- Keep your cool, even when they're attacking;
- Provide answers that neutralize your audience so they don't shut you out;
- Prevent accusations and hostility from spreading and becoming a problem;
- Avoid the traps of buzzwords;
- Counter untrue information; and
- Prevent hypotheticals from leading you into risky areas.

SESSION 3 - 1:30 - 3:00 p.m.
"Demonstrating What's In It For Them"
Newsletters, meetings with elected officials, and PAC mugs aren't enough to get them to give -- and give again. Learn what really motivates your donors and how you can offer it (an no, a "seat at the table" isn't enough).
In this session, learn how to effectively answer the question of "What's in it for me?" Discover what motivates your donors and how to use persuasive language, stories, testimonials, ideas, and examples that make them want to reach into their proverbial pocket and hand you the money.
Want new ideas on your marketing materials, newsletters, or Ambassador training materials? Or maybe, you'e like to show off yours!
Bring these materials with you. There will be an exhibit table where you can get ideas and feedback from your peers between sessions.
