Chevron Policy, Government & Public Affairs is accepting online applications for the position of Political Programs Analyst located in San Ramon, CA through August 15, 2008.

Overview:

This position coordinates the political compliance functions of the company’s reporting of all lobbying and political contribution activities to the federal government and various states to ensure accurate, complete and timely filings. Provides functional counsel to key executive assistants and field managers on compliance reporting obligations. The position also serves as Treasurer of the Chevron Employees Political Action Committee.

Key Job Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

• Coordinate the compilation and filing of federal lobbying/political contributions reports to the US House and US Senate, federal CEPAC filings to the Federal Election Commission, and quarterly lobbying/political contributions filings to the California Secretary of State.
• Provide functional counsel and guidance to executive assistants and field staff to ensure accurate reporting on lobbying activity reporting to the US House, US Senate, Federal Election Commission and the California Elections Commission.
• Develop, implement and manage contribution approvals and employee lobbying report processes through a streamlined automated web-based system through IT support.
• Serve as Treasurer of the Chevron Employees Political Action Committee (CEPAC).
• Ensure legal compliance is obtained on political contributions and CEPAC requests, and timely submittals on lobbying and contribution reports filings.
• Compile and disclose corporate-wide business and charitable expenses for federal semi-annual lobbying report disclosures.
• Track all pre-approved corporate-wide gifts to US public officials in federal, state and local levels for compliance and reporting purposes.

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience or background in political compliance or finance
• Demonstrated leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to provide counsel and advice to stakeholder groups to achieve desired results.
• Strategic thinking – demonstrated ability to analyze and address complex issues and approaches. Anticipates and manages change.
• Strong communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate (written and oral) complex issues to a variety of audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative, be results oriented, a self-starter, and work with minimal supervision in a quickly changing, unstructured environment. Ability to work effectively under strict deadlines and execute multiple requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience or background in federal/state lobbying report filings or PAC activities strongly preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or technical disciplines.
